Ciaga has a FMSS (Full Mission Shiphandling Simulator) simulator as well as the qualified personnel to generate databases and to model all types of ships and port facilities.

This technology enables CIAGA to conduct all kinds of ship maneuvering simulation tests in restricted areas, open sea areas, in offshore areas, including researches about the viability of the use of special types of ships in those simulated areas.

Ciaga has already successfully carried out a lot of simulations for some navigation companies and ship constructors following the standardization procedures prescribed by PIANC, USAGE and ABNT. Among the researches in the last two years we have carried out:

a) Research on the possibility of operating larger vessels at the terminal of Portocel, Barra do Riacho , ES; b) Research on the control of cargo barges convoys to transport ore in Paraná-Paraguai River, for the Rio Tinto Company; c) Research on the operation of larger ships at the terminal MBR, Sepetiba, RJ; and d) Navigation and Maneuverability in the channel of Vitoria.
